SKETCHBOOK ASSIGNMENT 6

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>so our last sketchbook assignment for my dma179 class was to research an artist selected by andrew and recreate artwork that is based on their style, making sure not to completely copy something they have done. i was given Jon Burgerman....

title english artist and illustrator
born on august 8th, 1979
studied in england, and nottinghman trent university
notable achievements include sony's wipeout pure playstation portable video game & book
style vibrant, bright, cartoon like, simple, bold and goofy
samples:

my rough work:

my final mock piece:
reflections: overall, i thoroughly enjoyed this assignment, especially because i was given burgerman. it was easy drawing childlike images; except the thing with burgermans artwork is that its alot of different characters put together and i found it difficult making sure that each character looked unique, although burgermans work doesn't really include themes, i decided to make the top left corner "space", the bottom left corner "city" and the right bottom corner "sea".. this made it easier for me to come up with different characters and somewhat categorize them. it was extremely tedious colouring each image using photoshop which is what took up most of my time as opposed to the initial drawing. burgermans pieces are full of colour and excitement and i hope i achieved that.
